Sam is made up of a series of modules for section design,
beam design and structural analysis. The available modules are:

of relaxing moments and self equilibrating stresses.

Design and assessment of concrete sections: For
concrete sections with reinforcement and / or prestressing
tendons, subject to bi-axial bending and axial
load: ULS analysis, SLS analysis, SLS crack width
calculations. Graphics and

is produced for all the calculations.

Design of concrete sections to BS 8110: For concrete
sections with reinforcement and / or prestressing tendons,
subject to bi-axial bending and axial load: ULS analysis,
SLS analysis,
SLS crack width calculations, SLS curvature and deflection
calculations to BS 8110. Graphics and fully detailed tabular
and hand calculation style output is produced for all the
calculations.

Torsion and shear calculations for any section:
Calculation of torsion constant "C" using Prandtl's
membrane analogy solved using finite difference
equations. Allows for continuous faces. Calculation of
the shear centre of a section.

Calculation of reinforcement required for control of
early thermal cracking in accordance with BS 5400 and
