Sam is a unique integrated suite of software modules for the loading, analysis and design of small to medium span bridges.
For flexibility and economy the modules themselves can be operated independently of each other. However, the true power of the Sam system is harnessed when working as an integrated suite. This closes the 'design loop' gaining extra flexibility and efficiency for the Engineer.
The Sam system is designed for use with all the usual bridge construction types and takes into account the different construction sequences that each construction type requires.
Once the design has been completed the Engineer can make use of the very flexible and comprehensive calculations output. The system is able to produce full calculation reports in a format very much like that of hand written Engineers' calculations right out of the box. This has many advantages of course, for example the ability to check the calculations thoroughly, no need for lengthy post-processing of results and the ability for Engineers working with new codes to learn with speed and confidence.
Sam is used globally therefore it is essential that a variety of standards are supported.
